The Albion High School Alumni Foundation is proud of our main focus – providing valuable scholarships to our AHS graduating seniors – and proud that we can continue to add to our list of available scholarships year after year. Scholarships are a major part of the Foundation that support our mission – “to provide the Albion Central School community with opportunities that promote success” – and our tag line – “Making a Difference for a Lifetime.”

The list of scholarships we manage and award annually is impressive, and we work hard to maintain that level of quality investment in the future of our young people. On an annual basis, we award scholarships to Albion High School graduates to assist and encourage them as they plan for their futures. Throughout the year, we raise funds for scholarships through an annual membership drive and various fundraising activities and events. We invest our funds to provide a consistent income stream to accomplish our goals. But we don’t stop there…..we continue to accept and seek out new scholarships to add to our list. In just the past few years, we have added NINE new scholarships:

• Harry W. Salchak Science Scholarship – first awarded in 2012
• A.B. “Dick” Eddy – “Service Above Self” Scholarship – first awarded in 2012
• Nancy Elaine LaGamba Scholarship – first awarded in 2012
• Dr. Paul Mahany Family Scholarship – first awarded in 2012
• Hoag Scholarship – first awarded in 2013 (this scholarship is also our first scholarship awarded over four years)
• Panek Family Farm Agriculture Scholarship – first awarded in 2014
• The Rex and Marilyn Horton Scholarship – NEW THIS YEAR – first awarded in 2015
• The Wayne A. Burlison Memorial Scholarship – NEW THIS YEAR – first awarded in 2015
• Glassner Family Scholarship – NEW THIS YEAR – first awarded in 2015

And……we’re already working to establish another new scholarship that will first be awarded in 2016 – the Ronald L. Sodoma Scholarship! We are currently accepting donations to help endow this scholarship.
