End of Year Letter from our Board President

Thank you for being a part of the Albion High School Alumni Family.

2022 was another year of tremendous growth for our organization. The Panek family scholarship and
John Panek memorial scholarship doubled in size thanks to generous donations from Jim and Kerry
Panek. The two scholarships now pay nearly $10,000 annually to their winners.

The Hoag scholarshipswere greatly expanded thanks to the continued support of their family. A 3rd engineering scholarship wasadded, and two brand new skilled trade scholarships were created as well.

For the first time we awarded the Lamont Family Scholarship, The Kelly Ricker Memorial Scholarship, and the Gwenyth Hughson memorial scholarship.

In total we were able to award over $125,000 to graduating seniors in June of this year. We are certainly
proud of the work that we have done and are fully aware that we would not be able to make the impact
that we do without the support of our members. Thank you all so much.

In addition to supporting our graduating seniors, we want to be an asset to our Alumni of all ages. If
you’re planning a class reunion, please reach out and let us know how we can be of assistance.

The 1981 Section VI championship football team was recognized during halftime at the annual
homecoming football game on September 30th. This was the second time the Purple Eagles were
section champs (the first was the 1979 team). Prior to the game, the team was treated to dinner at
the concession stand, visited the locker rooms, and gave a pep talk to the current team prior to the
game. We were honored to help organize and be a part of the ceremony. We feel strongly that these types of events help bring our community together. We want to be involved and help in anyway that we can, so please keep us in mind.

The support our community has shown to our graduating seniors, and their commitment to helping
them pursue their dreams is incredible. It makes me proud to be part of this community and honored
that I have the privilege of awarding these scholarships each year.

As strong as our organization is in 2022, we want to stay focused on the future. Many of our
scholarships are fully endowed and will award seniors in perpetuity. Some have not reached
endowment, but we are committed to helping them get there. This year we are focusing our efforts on
The Ed Fancher Memorial Scholarship and The Scott Ward Memorial Scholarship. A contribution to their
scholarships would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made through our website-
albionalumni.org, or by check made payable to ‘Albion HS Alumni Foundation’. Our address is PO Box
345, Albion, NY 14411

Please consider the Albion High School Alumni Foundation when deciding on your holiday giving and/or
end of year contributions. Your contributions will help Albion students pursue their dreams.

We truly appreciate your continued support.
