Rochester & Syracuse RR

Introduction

On August 1, 1850, of the Auburn and Rochester was consolidated with the Auburn and Syracuse to become the Rochester & Syracuse. Because of its circuitous route, the 30-mile Syracuse and Rochester Direct, incorporated June 18, 1848, was merged with the Rochester & Syracuse on August 6, 1850. It became part of the NYC in 1853.
