Class of 1954 Reunion

The Class of 1954 held their 60th Class Reunion on the evening of Saturday, July 19th at the Village Inn in Childs, NY. The class participated in a reunion weekend of events, including a mixer at The Shamrock in Albion on Friday, the reunion on Saturday, and a breakfast gathering at The Village House on Sunday morning. The festivities were organized by Marguerite Sullivan Dixon, Helen Ireland Bilicki, and Ellen Wells Smith. Purple and white trinkets and souvenirs of their 60 year mile stone adorned the room……including a cat theme on the name tags, which commemorates Alfred, the cat the class adopted as their mascot in high school. Classmates and their guests enjoyed a delicious sit-down meal with choices of prime rib or one of two chicken dishes. Thirty-one classmates, representing more than half of the surviving members of the nearly 80 graduates of the class of 1954, traveled from near and as far away as California to attend and celebrate 60 years since graduation from Albion High School.

Sadly, the class lost one of their classmates just two days before the reunion – Philip Knight passed away on July 17th. Philip will be missed by his classmates.

Bit of trivia:  The Class of 1954 was the first graduating class of the centralized school system in Albion!
