As White, I usually use the Queen Gambit (d4 & c4), but vary this opening with the English (c4). As Black, I respond to d4 with Nf6, an Indian defense, and aim for the Nimzo-Indian Defense, which has a high success rating. Against e4, I reply with the Sicilian Defense (c5), aiming for the Najdorf Variation, which again has a high success rating. Begin at my English Opening or my defenses against other openings. Note that some variations of the English Opening transform into Queen Gambit variations, which provide White with a steady initiative. Variations chosen by me are from Shredder 12 and Fritz 12 programs. Variations chosen by opponents are from the Chessmaster program. This is a "work in progress".
